On April 1st, China National Seed Group Co., Ltd. and Mitsui Chemical Agro, Inc. signed the Hybrid Rice Seed Development Cooperation Agreement at Tokyo. Zhang Wei, the assistant president of Sinochem and general manager of China National Seed Group Co., Ltd. attended the conference and signed the agreement, as well as the president Kiyoshi Arai of Mitsui Chemical Agro, Inc..

According to the Agreement, China National Seed Group Co., Ltd. will take advantage of the germplasm resources provided by Mitsui Chemical Agro, Inc. in the breeding and development of hybrid rice varieties. This agreement will further accelerate the introduction and utilization of excellent rice germplasm resources available to China National Seed Group Co., Ltd., which will foster and create favorable conditions for the development of rice varieties with independent intellectual property rights.

The two sides also had extensive discussion about the cooperation between the two companies in other areas.
